Damon Wood’s Harmonious Junk

When Damon contacted me about creating some new promotional images for the new album Sirens and Pipers media push, I was stoked.  Nothing makes me happier than making art inspired by art I dig, and this certainly is just that!  As soon as the I started to contemplate the band, I saw theses images in my head, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Harmonious Junk is a Denver-based Rock group fusing Jazz, Funk, Progressive, and Improvisational styles, led by former James Brown lead guitarist Damon Wood. The band has been voted best Jamband by Westword Magazine and plays 60-80 Colorado shows per year. Wood and company have released 2 previous cds: Space Cadet (2005) and Too Cocky In Nagasaki (2008), and is now in full promotion of their new cd: Pipers & Sirens.  The band also features Brian Efros on bass and Rob Buehler on drums.

As a fan of the great Frank Zappa, I have fallen in love with intelligent rock music.  And then I met Damon Wood.  He brings a new level of cool to the nerd deep in my soul with his masterful guitar licks that are both as calculated and exact as a surgeon, while still being able to go off the grid and improvise some of the most inspired jams I have had the pleasure to hear.  His deep soul roots are what tie it all together through the song writing.  And there you have it, my comfort zone where notes flow like water.   In my comfort zone I found Damon Wood’s Harmonious Junk.
