Phish has made Colorado a staple for their Labor Day festivities, hallmarking the event with a themed show, which was “S” the first year. This year they one-upped themselves by spelling out “FUCK YOUR FACE” an original song of theirs, by the first letter of each song of the setlist. The original idea was well-received by the audience, and has created a whole new level of expectation for them in years to follow.
I had a less than great experience shooting the show. The live webcast crew had the large majority of the center of the pit occupied by a riser for them to film from, leaving us only a 5ft section of the left side of the pit to try to shoot from. For the press, this was a total nightmare and created an impossible situation for capturing half the band. Here is some of what I did capture that day, and the half of the band I could see, as well.
