The historic Chautauqua Auditorium has hosted many gatherings, from Teddy Roosevelt speaking to Billy Sunday preaching. The place has lots of stories to tell. In modern days, it has become one of Boulder’s favorite summer music spots for organic, unplugged music, given all its warm wood acoustics and intimate setting. In perfect contrast, Ryan Bingham brought his sultry singer- song-writer vibe to the hallowed hall with all the amplification and volume of a rock band. Chautauqua Auditorium might be old, but it can still throw down with the best of them, as it proved this night!
As a newer fan of Ryan’s work, I was not sure what to expect of him live, but he did not disappoint. His incredible song writing skills are complimented by his commanding stage presence, a rare combination. I quickly realized that his albums are not just well-produced, they are just reflections of him. And he is the real deal. Included in the set are photos of the opening act, The Wild Feathers.
