They say things happen for a reason and I think this concert proves that. Branford Marsalis was what drew me to this show; I have long been a fan ever since I heard him playing “Eyes of the World” with the Grateful Dead. But this show was ultimately not about him at all, this show was about my photography being inspired and then applied to the experience of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra concert. Little did I know as I shot this show, but these photos were to be the foundation of a new relationship of creativity and artistic blending with me as the new official photographer of the Symphony.
I was on assignment this day for Listen Up Denver!, Click here to check out my full review with photos.
Excerpt from review
In today’s digital world, iPods and Pandora tend to dictate the way many people take in music. I was extremely happy to unplug from the status quo and see the Colorado Symphony in all its analog glory. From the opening notes of the “Star Spangled Banner,” I knew this was going to be a completely different experience than I was used to and was thrilled to have the opportunity (and one of the best seats in the house).
